Bioko

Impressive island with lots of volcanoes and very few tourists

Bioko is a rugged island in Equatorial Guinea, rimmed by beaches with remarkable black sand. It’s really off the beaten track. Go and explore it, and be prepared for a little adventure.

Bioko, the name alone is quite special. This island off the coast of Equatorial Guinea is wild, with deserted, black beaches full of volcanic sand, edged with palm trees.

This island has three volcanoes: Pico de Santa Isabel, Pico de Moka and Gran Caldera (down south) and several waterfalls. Travelling around here will astound you, not just its natural beauty, but also the relaxed locals.
